Fourth of July in Maine

There are a ton of activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Carrielyn here; I hope you had a fabulously fun 4th of July! I love this holiday; it is right up there on my list with Christmas! The excitement of the fireworks is what does it for me. All the “ohhhh”-ing and “awww”-ing at the bright, beautiful lights illuminating the night sky is magical to me. I have found that the great thing about small towns is they seem to hold several fireworks events throughout the summer. It’s a great and inexpensive adventure; and if you’re like me, you try to see as many as possible. Here are some events I found throughout Maine this year that maybe you’d like to try out next year.

Bar Harbor’s fireworks are by far my favorite because they display their fireworks over Frenchman’s Bay. The best spot is on the waterfront, so get there early enough to find a great place to sit. The show starts at approximately 9:15 pm! Bar Harbor also has a ton of activities for you to check out. Check out their website to help you plan for next year. https://www.visitbarharbor.com/july-4th

Augusta celebrated the 100th birthday of Old Fort Western this year. They had parades, activities for all age groups, and two firework displays that started at 9 pm. Their website is https://mainstreetmaine.org/listing/augusta-july-4th-celebrations/.

Rangeley had their fireworks and festivities on July 3rd! From various parades to duck races and even a sunset fireworks cruise, check out their calendar of events as an example of what you may expect next year’s events to be like: https://www.rangeleymaine.com/calendar/event/8336.

Clinton had a variety of festivities on July 3rd and the 4th. Parades, a car show, a craft fair, live music and concerts, and a horse show. Check out their calendar for more information about what they do each year: https://www.facebook.com/CentralMaine4thofJuly/.

I hope everyone has a great summer, and if you’d like to share with me how you spent your July 4th holiday weekend each year, I’m always looking for new and exciting adventures. Please email me at creynolds@newdimensionsfcu.com to share your ideas, fun, and photos.
