11th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show Raises $18,226.49 Despite Rain
The 11th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show, held on June 7, 2025, saw more than 100 car owners come together for a day of fundraising in support of the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP), raising $18,226.49 for the cause. While the rain dampened the turnout, it didn’t dampen the spirit of the community, which came out to support families battling childhood cancer.
One of the most touching moments of the event came when Shelby Belanger, a mother whose son Asher had been a recipient of MCCP funds during his battle with cancer, shared her personal story. Asher, who has always had a love for cars, was deeply moved by all the cars he saw that day. Shelby spoke about the vital support her family received from MCCP, which resonated deeply with everyone in the crowd. Her heartfelt words reminded everyone of the profound impact these funds have on Maine families in need.
Since its inception, the Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show has raised an impressive $208,313.55 for MCCP, demonstrating the community’s remarkable generosity and the ongoing commitment to supporting children in need.
The check presentation took place at New Dimensions FCU’s Silver Street branch on July 15th.
