Community Involvement
In keeping with the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” the New Dimensions Federal Credit Union is dedicated to the community it serves.
The most recent community involvement project called the “Financial Literacy Take Action Program” was designed to bring financial awareness and education to members and non-members in the community. The goal was to enrich the financial quality of life for the membership. Some of the free program offerings included Identity Theft Prevention, Credit Report Analysis and Understanding FICO Scores; Build a Basic Budget, and others.
The New Dimensions Federal Credit Union is an active participant in fundraisers designed to benefit the people of Maine, particularly in its community. Fundraising efforts are focused on three organizations. They are: the Maine Children's Cancer Program, Special Olympics, and Ending Hunger in Maine. In addition to those, the credit union supports other fundraising efforts such as the Alfond Cancer Center in Augusta, Children’s Miracle Network, and the Kennebec Valley College Endowment Scholarship Program. Throughout the year, the credit union hosts various fundraising events at its facility. Some of the most popular events are the soup days during the winter months, the two-day Harvest Fest in the fall, and the summer hotdog sale in the credit union parking lot. All proceeds are donated to a predetermined charity.
The New Dimensions Federal Credit Union fundraising achievements are a direct reflection of the generosity of its members. If you have any fundraising ideas or would like to make a donation to any of the three worthy organizations listed above, please contact the credit union. All inquiries may be sent to either 61 Grove Street, Waterville, ME 04901 or e-mailed to Lucie Poirier .
